Horses

Horses of all sizes and types are a very large part of The Vet Centre's activities.

We have special relationships with various groups, such as Pony Clubs and Endurance Riding Groups. We offer services to Riding for the Disabled and periodically run information evenings on relevant horse related topics.

We offer a whole range of routine services from blood samples, equine dentistry and vaccinations to pregnancy scanning and artificial insemination.  For sick and injured horses we have a portable x-ray machine, endoscope and ultrasound machine to aid us in diagnosing the problem as well as the in-house laboratory to process blood and urine samples. 

Areas of special interest is for The Vet Centre include Equine Acupuncture and Laminitis Management. Dr Kelly Powell has undergone training in Equine Acupuncture which provides an alternative form of treatment for horses. Dr Andrew Conway works closely with a local farrier in the management of equine pain and control of the changes (pathology) that occur within the hoof
